Fettucine Alfredo Recipe

November 29, 2018November 29, 2018

Hello friends! This post has absolutely nothing to do with stamping. I used to love to cook, but the kiddos cannot agree on the same meals, so mealtime has become something that I do not enjoy as much anymore. I’m willing to bet some of you out there are looking for recipes that have been tried by someone you know and are quick to get to the table.  Today, I’m sharing the best low-fat fettuccine alfredo recipe that I’ve been able to find.

Fettucine Alfredo with Bacon

Ingredients:
1 (9-ounce) package refrigerated fresh fettuccine
2 slices applewood-smoked bacon, chopped
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 cup 1% low-fat milk
2/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

Cook pasta according to package directions, omitting salt and fat. Drain in a colander over a bowl, reserving 1/4 cup cooking liquid.

While pasta cooks, cook bacon in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat 4 minutes or until crisp, stirring occasionally. Remove bacon from pan, reserving drippings. Add garlic to drippings in pan; saute 1 minute, stirring constantly. Sprinkle flour over garlic; cook 30 seconds, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly; cook 2 minutes or until bubbly and slightly thick, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low. Gradually add cheese, stirring until cheese melts. Stir in salt and reserved 1/4 cup cooking liquid. Add hot pasta to pan; toss well to combine. Sprinkle with bacon, parsley, and pepper.

Happy cooking and enjoy!

Freebie Friday!

November 23, 2018November 21, 2018

Hello stamping friends! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and are now ready to move full steam ahead into Christmas mode! Today I am sharing with you an adorable Baker’s Box tutorial for gift giving using the Signs of Santa Stamp Set and framelits.  This Baker’s Box is the perfect item to wrap up cookies or other treats for a small gift for your friends and family this holiday season. I love that this box features a clear acetate window to showcase your treat.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Cut your paper as follows:
Whisper White Cardstock (100730) 3-3/4” x 1-1/2”; 1-1/2” circle
Coastal Cabana Cardstock (131297) 2-3/4” square
Santa’s Workshop Specialty Designer Series Paper (147809) 4-1/4” x 2”; cut out elves, etc.

1. Assemble the Baker’s Boxes using the Bone Folder to crease the lines well.
2. Stamp snowflakes from the Still Night Stamp Set in Coastal Cabana ink on the Coastal Cabana and Whisper White rectangular pieces of cardstock for background decoration.
3. Next cut out the decorative pieces you like from the Santa’s Workshop Specialty Designer Series Paper. Take advantage of the Santa’s Signpost framelits to cut out some of the images. They match up nicely with the framelits.
4. Stamp the “official seal of the North Pole” image in Poppy Parade ink on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock. I used my 1-1/2” circle to cut out the image, but you could also use the framelits to cut out the image.
5. Attach all of your pieces to the Baker’s Box as desired using mini glue dots and Snail Adhesive.
6. I finished it off by tying Garden Green Baker’s Twine around the box.

Happy Friday!

November 17, 2018November 16, 2018

OH MY GOSH…what a day I had yesterday!  In addition to being a stamping addict, I am also a mobile Notary Public, which means I go to people’s homes, businesses, etc. to provide notary services.  Yesterday I had three appointments – two loan closings and one personal job (not really a big deal).  However, it snowed here in PA yesterday and this is what it looked like traveling out there!

There were accidents EVERYWHERE!  I sat on one road for 1 1/2 hours and did not move.  This made me two hours late for my last appointment.  I left home a 7:45 am and got back to my home at 4 pm.  I was never so happy to be home by the fireplace! I love being out and about traveling to my notary appointments, but not yesterday!

Now, to share my latest library card.  Yes, I was supposed to have a library card class last night, but that got canceled too!  Blah!  Here’s one of the cards that I was going to make with my stamping friends. I thought this was a great card for the Thanksgiving holiday coming up!

That’s all I have for now because my brain is fried! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and make sure to do some stamping!

30 years! Stampin’ Up! Continues

November 13, 2018

Hello again stamping friends!  I am sharing a  few more pics today from our 30 years celebration in Orlando.

Celebrating the high achievers!

How cool is this?  Three generations of stamping!  Shelli Gardner, the founder of Stampin’ Up!, then Sara Douglass, her daughter and CEO and Sara’s daughter.

This is a little hard to see, but we met a fellow demonstrator, Kylie Bertucci from New Zealand!  She was so much fun!

Hope you enjoyed the quick pics from our celebration!  Tomorrow, I will share with you some of the new products coming your way.  Make sure to come back to see them!

Happy stamping!

Stampin’ Up! 30 Years!!!

November 12, 2018

Wow, what a fun five days I just had in Orlando, FL stamping with 6,000 of my closest friends from all over the world! Congrats to Stampin’ Up! for 30 years of crafting. Shelli Gardner started this little stamping business right in her living room back in 1988 and it has turned into a huge business with 53,000 demonstrators all over the world!

Over the next few days, I will share some pics of our three-day convention showing you all of the fun we had!

The new catalog!  Lots of fun new stamp sets.  Are you a dog and/or cat lover?  Fun new animal sets coming your way.

Are you tired of your red rubber stamps not sticking to the blocks?  Guess what!  We now have “cling stamps” that have some serious clinging labels on them!  You will never have to worry about your stamps falling off your blocks again.  Stay tuned!

The view from at our lunch table.  Stamping goodies are in the clear tub!

This is my stash of freebies that I came home with from convention!  You all need to sign up as demonstrators and go with me the next time!  Seriously!  Stampin’ Up! is very good to its demonstrators.

Until tomorrow, happy stamping!

Hello November!

November 2, 2018November 1, 2018

What?  November already? I am so not ready for this time of year. Anyway, here’s a pic of my November calendar page from my 2018 mini calendars. Get ready, the 2019 mini calendar is coming soon.  All of the pages have been created and I even have a few packets ready to go!  I don’t think I’ve ever had some done this early!  I’m hoping that’s a good sign for my holiday preparations this year.

Come back in a few days.  I hope to have the purchase options ready and posted for next year’s mini calendar.  I think you’re going to love it. I had lots of fun creating next year’s pages.  Stay tuned…

Reinker Tip

November 1, 2018

Hello stamping friends!

Hope you all had a great Halloween!  My daughter had a few friends come to our house last night to hand out candy to the trick or treaters. I made a pasta bar to feed the troops before the trick or treaters arrived.   Here’s a pic of the crazy girls! Can you guess what all of their costumes are?

We had a robber, a boxer, a kitten, Kim Possible, a dad and a tourist!  They all did a great job with their costumes!

Now, on to my quick tip of the day!  Do you have trouble finding the correct reinker color when you’re looking for it?  Another demonstrator (not sure who) out there in the Stampin’ Up! world came up with this idea and I think it’s great!  Using a mini hole punch, punch out a circle of the corresponding colored cardstock for each reinker.  Using our mini glue dots adhere the circle to the top of your reinker.  This will make your life so easy when you’re looking for that certain color the next time!  These pics aren’t great, but take a look at mine…

What do you think?  Easy peasy and it makes finding that reinker so much quicker.  You’re welcome and thanks to the demonstrator out there that came up with this genius idea.

Happy stamping!
