Lots of Hearts!

January 16, 2017January 13, 2017

Hello stamping friends!

As far as crafting goes, I am getting started a little late  in making Valentine’s Day cards, but I am now ready to go into full Valentine’s Day card mode!  I just had a mini card class at the library last week (actually two classes) and made this pretty Valentine’s Day card with the ladies.  Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays.  I love the colors and also being able to makes cards for my special lovies!  However, my sixteen year old son isn’t too excited about receiving a “pretty” card, so I will need to come up with a “cool” card for him!

Here are some pics of the card I made last week.  I used the Sealed with Love, Tip Top Taupe and Whisper White papers and the  ink is Tip Top Taupe. All from Stampin’ Up!  You can find all of these items over on my demonstrator website here.   Enjoy!

Happy Monday!

Valentine’s Day Mailbox!

January 13, 2017January 8, 2017

Oh, what fun this is!   A miniature mailbox for your friends on Valentine’s Day!

I used all Stampin’ Up! products to make this little mailbox.  The Love Blossoms DSP is no longer available, so you could make them with the Sending Love DSP and real red card stock.  The Sending Love DSP is available in the new Occasions Catalog.

You will need Real Red card stock cut into a 3″ x 1 1/4″ piece and a piece of Sending Love DSP cut into a 3″ x 1″ piece. Adhere the DSP to the top of the solid card stock and then wrap around the chocolate nugget. Glue dots work perfectly for attaching the paper to the chocolate nugget. Next, cut a piece of real red card stock 1 3/4″ x 1 and round the corners on one end. Glue this piece to the bottom of the nugget. Next cut a piece of 1/8″ x 1 1/4″ of Real Red card stock. This will be the lever for your “heart” flag. You will need to punch a tiny circle (I used the circle from the owl punch) out of Real Red  card stock also. I then punched out two hearts (using the owl punch) in whisper white card stock. Add all of these little pieces to the mailbox as shown in the picture above.

I hope you enjoy this fun little project!  Happy Stamping!

XOXO

NEW Classes!

January 11, 2017January 8, 2017

Hello friends!

Part of this post is for my local peeps today. If you live near Hershey (the land of chocolate), please come stamp with me!   It’s a great way to relax and let the stresses of your life melt away!  Wonderful therapy!!

NEW MINI CARD CLASS!
Starting this month (January, 2017) I will be adding  additional mini-card classes at my local library on Saturday mornings.  The class will be held from 10:30-12:00 Noon.  We will make two seasonal cards for $5 with guidance from my as your creative coach.  Classes will be held on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month.  If you would like more details, please send me a note!

NEW MONTHLY CLUB!
I am hoping to start a monthly stamp club where we would meet the third Sunday of the month from 1:00-3:00 pm at my house.  I will have 3 cards/projects showing new techniques to work on for the month.  Each member (6 total) agrees to purchase a minimum $25 order (before taxes and shipping) each month.  Each member will be hostess 1 of the 6 months.  The hostess will provide a light snack and I will provide the beverages.  Please let me know if you are interested.  I’d like to start the club in February.  I need a minimum of 6 people to sign up.  I will consider more than 6 people if there is enough interest.  If you’re interested, and live locally, please send me a note!

Also, I want to share with you today the Special Reason Bundle that is in the Occasions Catalog.  With spring around the corner (haha), you will want to have these two great products in your stash.  When you purchase the bundle (Special Reason Stamp Set and the Stylish Stems Framelits Dies) together, you will save yourself 10%!  Take a look at this video made by Stampin’ Up! showing the versatility of this bundle.  Don’t you just love it!

January – Mini Calendar

January 9, 2017January 9, 2017

Hello friends!  I wanted to share with you today the January page of my mini calendar that I mentioned in my prior post.  I made a ton of mini easel calendars for Christmas gifts this year.  They went to the teachers, bus driver, music teachers, hairdressers, etc.  They took a bit of planning, but I thoroughly enjoyed looking through all of my stamp sets and picking out which ones to use.

This one is quite appropriate for our weather here today in Pennsylvania.  It’s freezing outside!

Also, let’s not forget it’s the most wonderful time of the year to shop with Stampin’ Up!  The new Occasions catalog went live on January 4th.  It’s Sale-a-Bration time!

For every $50 you spend (before taxes and shipping), you will get to choose a FREE item from the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  Click HERE to check out the new catalog online and shop!  OR, if you’re like most people and like to have a paper catalog in your hands, contact me and I’ll be happy to send the catalogs out to you.

XOXO

Stampin’ Up! Display Board – OnStage 2017 Post

January 6, 2017

Hello friends!

This is a post that is part of the application process to be considered for a Display Board Stamper at the upcoming OnStage event  in April 2017  for Stampin’ Up! in Richmond, Virginia.  It would be such a great honor to have the opportunity to create samples for the display board at the upcoming event!  Keep your fingers crossed for me!!

To be considered, we must submit a scrapbook page, two 3D items, and three cards.  Ready to see  my creations?  First up is the scrapbook page.  There is more than one scrapbook page shown below because I am sharing  a paper bag scrapbook that I created using several items from Stampin’ Up’s current 2016-2017 Annual Catalog.  What I’ve done is fold the good old brown paper bags in half. I then sew them with a sewing machine so there’s no chance they’re coming apart.  The pages are 5×5 and a ton of fun to create!  You just let your imagination go.  I’ve made a ton of these scrapbooks over the past several years for my family and friends.  They are great for your desk at the office or coffee table at home!

Next up are my three cards.  Card number one is a group shot of my Valentine’s Day cards from 2015 showcasing the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper that we had in our 2015 Occasions Catalog.  There are a few cards in the picture where I added lots of hearts from our punches and die cuts spilling out of the  mini envelope for fun!

Card number two is a birthday card that I created for my daughter back in August, 2016.  I just love all of the bright colors.  It’s such a happy card!  I also stamped on the enveloped some squiggles and the #imbringingbirthdaysback that was started by Shannon West last year.

Card number three is also one of my favorites.  It was so much fun creating all of the fun bright flowers and making the 1/2 card front.   Another happy card with a fun little surprise in the front and all of the bright flowers.

In the last category, you will see my two 3D items.  The first one is an adorable little mailbox that I put together using a Hershey’s chocolate nugget.  I  just love the flag with the little heart!   I went crazy handing them out to everyone last year for Valentine’s Day.  I love surprising  everyone with cute little treats like this!

Lastly, my second 3D item is a desktop easel calendar that I put together this past Christmas for all of my teacher, hairdresser, bus driver, music instructors, etc. gifts.   These took a bit of planning, but I had a great time going through my stamp sets and creating a scene for each month.  Check back here at the beginning of each  month where I will be sharing that particular month’s  creation!

Thanks for sticking with me through all of my creations!  Please leave a comment for me below telling me which one is your favorite.  I’d love to hear from you.  Wish me luck with my  submission!  Happy Stamping friends!

XOXO
Wendy

Happy New Year!

January 2, 2017

Hello and Happy New Year stamping friends!

I don’t know what happens to me, but every year from Halloween thru the holidays seems to be crazy busy and it’s hard for me to keep my head above water.  This year proved to be the same!

I need to figure out how to get my act together so that I don’t get so overwhelmed. Maybe this year will be different!  Say a prayer for me please 🙂

Anyway, the card pictured above is the card that I sent out to my loyal customers using some of my favorite colors —  Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White and Basic Black.

Wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2017!  Here’s to lots of stamping time too!

XOXO

#imbringingbirthdaysback

September 23, 2016September 23, 2016

Hello friends!

Social media is ruining birthdays! Do you agree? How many of you send birthday cards in the mail anymore? I don’t know about you, but I love to send and receive mail (happy mail that is)!

Do you know about #imbringingbirthdaysback?   Well, Shannon West, an employee at Stampin’ Up! started something back in January of this year and it’s caught on like wildfire! She has challenged us to make 2016 the year that we start sending birthday cards in the mail again. I’d love it if you all could join me and send some happy mail yourself!

If you would like to personally receive a birthday card in the mail from me, email me at wbdiem@verizon.net with your name, address and birth date (excluding the year) and I will be happy to share the love.

Won’t you join me in sharing the love with your family and friends? Send a birthday card and put a smile on someone’s face today! Please share a picture of your handmade card on social media with the hashtag #imbringingbirthdaysback

I just recently had a birthday and here is a pic of the card that I received from Shannon at Stampin’ Up!

Hello everyone!

September 20, 2016

So, what do you think of my new blog name?  It was to time to retire the “Scrappy Bags”.  I make paper bag scrapbooks on occasion, but I went to a Stampin’ Up! card class two (or maybe three) years ago and it was all over from there.  I pretty much went home and decided that I was going to sign up to be demonstrator so that I could buy supplies to make my paper bag scrapbooks.

The discount did help with buying my supplies, but then I decided the following year that I would have an open house and invite some crafty friends over to make some cards.  I found that I truly enjoyed making cards with friends.  I then accepted an offer from a fellow demonstrator to help with her Tuesday morning class at a local library where we each design a card for the ladies who stop by.  It is a drop-in class, so some weeks we may only have 8-9 people, then other weeks we’ve had as many as 22!  It’s been lots of fun and I am still doing this drop-in class every week.

I’ve added quite a few more workshops, classes, etc. under my belt since then and I’ve enjoyed every moment of it.  I’ve met lots of nice people along the way!  Stop by when you’re out cruising the internet to see what I’ve been up to.  I’m hoping to keep up with all of the other great bloggers out there in blog world and share lots of fun projects.

See you soon!

Wendy
XOXO
